Use Name Tags At Parties

Trying to learn many new names at once can put a strain on conversation at parties where people are not familiar with one another. Name tags are an excellent solution to this problem. When party guests are wearing name tags, it is easier for them to meet and converse. Additionally, many people can better learn things, such as names, when they have a visual cue like a name tag to go along with the verbal introduction. There are several ways to use name tags at parties. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Write out name tags using the guest list in advance. Adhesive name tags are available at office supply stores and online. Use a marker in an easy-to-read color and print the names legibly. Hand out the name tags as the guests arrive at the party.

2. Print out name tags with a computer in advance, using the guest list. Select name tags that can be printed on a home printer. Use the "Mail Merge" feature of a word processing program and select the label size listed on the name tags. Enter each guest's name in one of the labels. Select the entire document to make changes to the size of the font, the type of font and the alignment of the names. Distribute the name tags as the guests arrive at the party.

3. Write out name tags as the guests arrive. Have the name tags and marker prepared and fill out the tags for each guest.

4. Allow guests to write out their own name tags at the party. Prepare a table with the name tags and a selection of markers in easy-to-read colors. Direct the guests to the table as they arrive.
