Ideas For An Underwater Theme Bedroom

Make the sea a theme of any bedroom.

One of the greatest ways to get your kids interested in something is to have them be surrounded by it at all times. Get the kids started early on a love of the ocean and watch as they blossom in their knowledge and understanding of the fascinating world of the deep blue sea. All you need are few ideas for underwater themed bedrooms. Does this Spark an idea?

Start With the Walls

The most logical place to start decorating a room with underwater themes are the walls. You'll want walls in ocean colors, such as blue or white so that they match the theme you plan to create. Next, add in some posters and decals. You can also purchase wave shaped decals that can be applied to the room's walls. Add in some fish stickers and perhaps a poster of scuba diving.

Give the Furniture a Distinctive Look

The next place to add underwater themes to your child's room is to the furniture. You can add decals and stickers to the furniture the same way you did with the walls, or you can paint everything blue to represent the ocean. Then add in cushions and bedding that match the ocean theme.

Add Curtains

Underwater themed curtains can be purchased in specialty stores, or you can buy high quality underwater themed shower curtains and then adapt them to the theme of the room.

Finishing Touches

The finishing touches for your underwater themed bedroom can include a few trinkets, such as dried starfish, lampshades with underwater themes or a pirate's chest where your child can store his or her treasures. You should also consider adding a fish tank where the children can observe the real thing up close and in person.
