Word Theme Party Invitations

Get your guests excited for the theme party with appropriate invitation wording.

Your next party theme might be disco, casino, luau or mystery, to name a few. Once you settle on the theme, your planning is just beginning. Put your guests in the right frame of mind for the party by wording the invitations specially for the theme. Get creative and make your invitations exciting and special. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Find invitations that fit your theme. For example, if your theme is a luau, select Hawaiian invitations. If your theme is a Mexican fiesta, use fiesta invitations with a Mexican sombrero. For a carnival party, use big-top invitations with circus animals. For a beach party, select invitations with a beach umbrella or the ocean.

2. Think up common rhymes or sayings that fit with your theme and use a special rhyme or saying to introduce the party theme at the top of the invitation. For example, for a luau invitation, you might say, "We're roasting a pig and doing the hula. Please join us for a fun luau complete with mai tais, grass skirts and tropical flowers." For a Mexican fiesta say, "We're traveling south of the border and turning up the heat. Please don a sombrero and join us for tacos and margaritas." For a mystery party say, "The victim lies dead and one guest did the deed. Please join us for murder and mystery, and good food, too."

3. Give pertinent details about the party next. Include date, time, location and RSVP instructions. If you want your guests to bring theme-related food or dress in a specific way, mention this here.
