Word A Western Birthday Invitation

A Western party may include cowboys, horses and saloon themes.

A themed birthday party should be referenced in the invitation so guests know what to expect. This is especially true when encouraging guests to dress up for the occasion. The invitation sets the tone for the party and serves as the guests' introduction to the event. If you are throwing a Western-themed party, the invitation should follow this theme in style, imagery and wording as well. Send out the invitations at least six weeks prior to the event, especially if costumes are involved. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Watch old John Wayne Western movies for inspiration on the lingo and phrases traditionally associated with the "Old West." Choose stationery that fits the theme.

2. Feature a Western-style greeting on the invitation, such as "Howdy!"

3. Address the guests by incorporating a Western-style theme into their name. For example, "Cowboy Cathy," Pistol Paul," or "Quick-Draw Drew."

4. Type "WANTED" in all capital letters, similar to an old Western "Wanted" poster to inform guests of the reason for the occasion. For instance, underneath "WANTED," write, "a bunch of fun, non-coward cowboys and outlaws to celebrate Lasso Lucy's birthday."

5. Use Western lingo in relaying the date, time and location details, such as "So if you ain't yeller mosey on down to Lasso Lucy's house at high noon on September 1."

6. Add a Western-style RSVP, such as "So give us a howdy holler at xxx-xxx-xxxx if you're gonna show!"
