Word A 5th Birthday Party Invitation

Proper wording is important for a fifth birthday party.

Sending out invitations is a key part of planning a fifth birthday party. While many will concentrate on the appearance and theme of the invitation, the actual wording is crucial. Any mistake in the details could spell disaster for your party when guests show up at the wrong time, at the wrong place or on the wrong date. Take the time and make sure the wording is correct to lessen the chances of miscommunication. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Write that the birthday party is for a fifth birthday. If you are inviting relatives who you don't see often, they may not know the exact age of the birthday boy or girl. Knowing that it is a child's birthday party will give them an idea of what to expect and what type of gift to bring. For example, "Joey is turning five," or "Join us for Chloe's fifth birthday!"

2. State clearly the date, time and location of the party. Never assume your guests know where it will be held. You don't want to have everyone at a theme park while Aunt Edna shows up at your house. This will also cut down on phone calls and emails asking you for the details. Take care of it in the invite to save yourself the extra work.

3. Include important details like if it will be a pool party, a theme party, etc. This is not as big a deal for adults, but if half the kids invited come dressed for swimming, the ones who don't may be disappointed and upset, causing a level of stress you don't need while trying to host a party.

4. Write creatively. Children's parties are supposed to be fun, so don't be afraid to include jokes or rhymes in the invitation. An example would be: "Time to get out your swimming gear, little Joey is turning five this year! So join us for some fun and food, Sunday, June Eighth at the stroke of noon! We'll have an egg toss and three-legged race, see you then at the McAllister place!" This little poem lets the reader know that there will be swimming and games at the party. Additionally, he knows that the party is on June Eighth at the McAllister house and starts at noon.
