Word Anniversary Party Invitations

Celebrate the happy couple with an anniversary party.

An anniversary party is an opportunity to reflect on the happy couple's time together. The anniversary party invitation, then, should give guests all the information they need about the celebration. Honor the couple with a personalized invitation that reflects on their marriage. Rather than generic wording, choose wording specific to the anniversary theme and to the couple. They will appreciate the personalized touch. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Craft a creative headline that formally invites guests to the anniversary party. Use the anniversary year to jump start your creativity. For example, since the 50th anniversary is the "gold" anniversary according to traditional gift-giving guidelines, you can incorporate that idea into your wording: "Join us to honor the golden couple, Marianne and Lou, at their 50th anniversary party." Other possible headlines include, "Celebrate 25 Years of Jean and Brett" or "You are cordially invited to a 10th anniversary party honoring Kim and Nathan."

2. List the time and date of your anniversary party. Include the day of the week as well. For example, your invitation can say, "Friday, September 3, 2010 at 6 p.m."

3. Let guests know where the anniversary party will take place. If it's in your home, precede the address by your name---for example, "The Longwells, 14 Magnolia Street, Chicago, IL." If it's at a public venue, list the venue's full name and address---for example, "Green Valley Community Center, 387 Green Valley Lane, Sacramento, CA."

4. Ask guests to RSVP. You will want a head count so you can prepare enough food, drink and seating for your guests. Word the RSVP information with the couple in mind---for example, "Please let us know if you will be joining us to celebrate Karen and Matt's anniversary by March 15. RSVP to Mary Beth at 555-1614."

5. Add any special instructions about the party. For example, if the anniversary party is a surprise, let guests know---"Sssh! Diane and Tony don't know about this party, so please help us keep it a secret."
