Make Flyers for a Party
If you want to have a truly raging party, the kind where you draw a diverse crowd of interesting people beyond your closest friends then creating a flyer is a great way to boost attendance. Since this is a flyer for a party specifically, you'll want to make sure that it's stimulating and fun to look at, but that it is also very informative and includes all the important details regarding the party.
Instructions
1. Write down all the important information regarding the party so that you can organize it all before you begin creating the flyer. This will include the basic who, what, when, where and why.
2. Type in a title in a large font in Microsoft Word so that viewers will zero in on that when they first glance at the flyer. A size of 48 pt. font is best. The title should read "Jessica's Birthday Party" or "St. Patty's Day Extravaganza," including just enough information to communicate what the party is about.
3. Drop down a few lines and write a sentence that describe the party in more detail, using a font between 12 pt. and 18 pt. It can be tempting to choose a fancy font, but it's better to keep in relatively simple so that it is still easy to read. This information could include who the party is in honor of, the type of refreshments served, the music and the dress code.
4. Choose a photo or clip art that reflects the theme of the party. If it will be a masquerade, insert a picture of a mask. If it will be a St. Patrick's Day party, insert a picture of a leprechaun. If you're on a budget, be sure to use a picture that will show up well printed out in black and white, because color ink can get expensive. Position the picture in a central location, both horizontally and vertically, and be sure to increase its size so that it is viewable from a distance.
5. Include the last details regarding when and where the party will take place beneath the picture, using between 12 pt. and 18 pt. font. Be sure to type in the exact address of the party, as well as the date, day of the week, and time it begins.
6. Purchase or choose printing paper that comes in a bright, eye-catching color. Since this is a party flyer, you'll want it to be fun to look at, thus reflecting the nature of the party itself.
7. Decide on how many copies you're going to need to print out, and where you will want to pass them out. If you want to supply your friends, friends of friends, and acquaintances with flyers, anywhere between 20 and 40 will do. If you want to pass the flyers out at your favorite bars, community centers and coffee shops, you should print out closer to 100.
