Make Halloween Costumes For Free

Halloween is an exciting time of year for children and adults. Children have trick or treating and festivals, while adults have plenty of Halloween parties. Costumes are mandatory for a great Halloween experience, however, Halloween comes right before the Christmas shopping season. It is likely that it may be hard to find the money for a costume. Don't fret thought, it is very easy to make a Halloween costume for free.

Instructions

1. Think outside of the box. The costume doesn't have to be a popular theme. Some unusual choices include a beach bum, a hobo, a Gothic maid, or a dead prom queen.

2. Use clothing your already own. A great way to make a free Halloween costume is to look in your closet. A beach bum uses the summer's swim suit, coverup, sunglasses, flip-flops, and a warm towel. A hobo can be made with a pair of worn jeans and an old flannel shirt. You can go as a paintball player if you have the clothes in your closet.

3. Look at your previous costumes. See what new costumes you can make for free out of old ones. If you have an old maid costume, you can put some white paint on the face and become a dead maid. An old nurse costume can be made into a sexy maid costume, by taking the hem up and dropping the neckline a little.

4. Look for items you have around the house. A princess costume can be made out of a dress you already own, a pair of dress shoes and a play crown. A togo outfit can made by a white curtains and a gold belt. Tie the sheet around you and put the belt around the waist. A ghost can be made out of a white tablecloth. Place the sheet over the person wearing it. Simply hem to ensure they will not trip, then cut eye holes so they can see.

5. Get creative. There is a lot you can do with a little of time and creativity. You can make a lamb with a white body suit and some cotton balls. You can make an angel with a white dress, cardboard for the wings, and garland in the hair. A walking teddy bear can be made by taking a large stuffed animal apart. Cut the eye holes out and put some elastic around the arms and legs. Simply dress in jeans and a long sleeve shirt. Then, put the teddy bear arms and head on.
