Make Free Invitations To Print

Invitations are an important part of throwing a successful party.

No party would be complete without a set of invitations informing guests of the date, time and location of the event. While e-vites delivered to the recipient's email account are a popular option for some casual get-togethers, formal events still require a printed invitation. Rather than heading to a stationary store for pricey, pre-printed invitations, print your invites yourself at home. You'll have complete control over the size and style of the invitations and ensure that you'll have plenty of room for the wording you want to include. Does this Spark an idea?

Instructions

1. Visit a website that specializes in free, printable invitations. The Invitationland site and HP Activity Center both have a wide range of invitations available for any event (see Resources section of this article).

2. Browse the templates to find one appropriate for your event. Birthdays, holidays, weddings and graduations all have a wide range of appropriately themed card designs available. For other events, you can find all-purpose invitations with a simple geometric design or generic image.

3. Select the size for your invitations. Most items from the HP Activity Center print on standard 8 1/2" x 11-inch paper and fold in half. To use the same standard-size paper at Invitationland, you will need to print either two or four cards per page, as these do not fold.

4. Enter the appropriate information for your invitations. This includes a greeting or the title of your event, the date, time and location, and RSVP details.

5. Print your invitations on your home printer. Set the printer properties to print only one page at a time if you are printing double-sided cards. After the first side has been printed, insert the same paper back into the printer and print on the opposite side.

6. Fold or trim the invitations as needed to complete. You can find appropriately sized envelopes at an office-supply store for mailing your finished invitations.
