The Pogo Sketch is a stylus designed specifically for the iPad's touch screen. You can use it just as you would use your finger to tap and select anything on the screen. To sketch with the Pogo, download and install a drawing or sketching app from the App Store on your iPad. The best app for you depends on your preferences, as each app varies in options, such as stroke colors or widths, background "paper" options and how responsive it is to the Pogo's touch.
Instructions
1. Tap "App Store" on the iPad home screen. Enter "Draw," "Sketch" or "Handwriting" in the store's search bar located in the upper-right corner of the app. Search for "Paint" if you want expanded color options as you sketch. Each of these key terms brings up a selection of apps that respond to the Pogo's input. Read the app descriptions carefully to find one or more that you like.
2. Download your app of choice by tapping its price or "Free" button. Tap the "Install" link and type in your Apple password to confirm the selection. The app downloads and installs automatically.
3. Tap the app to open it and read the help or introductory file to find out about its options. This file may be hidden under the "Settings" button, which looks like one or more gears, or under the "Tools" button, which looks like a wrench. Pay particular attention to any instructions or settings for a "Palm pad" or similar tool. This type of tool goes by many names, but its purpose is to allow you to rest the side of your hand on the screen as you sketch without the iPad recognizing that touch as a drawing input.
4. Select your pen width, color or other settings, based on the app's instructions, and then rest your hand in the palm pad area, if applicable.
5. Hold the Pogo Sketch like a pencil and draw in light strokes, just as if you were sketching with a pencil on paper. Practice straight lines and curves to see how the touch screen reacts to your input.
6. Practice until you are comfortable with your sketching abilities using the Pogo, and then draw just as you would on paper.
