Jello Shot Ideas For A Hawaiian Party

Use slices of fresh fruit in your Jello shots.

There are several foods that will make your Hawaiian-themed party especially enjoyable for guests, including tropical fruit skewers and teriyaki shrimp. You can make the party even more lively with Jello shots that feature Hawaiian flavors. Include bright, tropical colors and fruity accents to make the shots the life of the party at your next luau-inspired celebration. Add this to my Recipe Box.

Mai Tai Jello Shots

Mai Tai Jello shots are a sweet treat with a kick of light and dark rums that are sure to be a hit at your Hawaiian party. To make the shots, you'll need tropical flavored Jello; combine six ounces of the Jello with about 16 ounces of boiling water. Pour two ounces of pineapple juice into the mixture, along with two ounces of light rum. Add four ounces of dark rum before placing them in the refrigerator to set. You can also include a few drops of cherry extract to the shots before they solidify to make the combination of cherry and pineapple flavors more prominent.

Blue Hawaiian Jello Shots

Blue curacao is the ingredient that gives these Jello shots their bright, eye-catching hue, making them impressive party fare. Use pineapple flavored Jello for the shots, or lemon Jello if you're not able to find pineapple at the local grocery store. Mix a packet of the Jello with about 3/4 cup of boiling water; stir the mixture until the Jello has dissolved completely. Then, add 1/2 a cup of cold water, along with 1/4 cup of light rum, 1/4 cup of blue curacao, and about 1/4 cup of coconut rum. Stir the mixture to combine all the flavors, and let it cool for a few minutes before pouring the Jello into shot glasses.

Pina Colada Jello Shots

Pina colada Jello shots combine the flavors of pineapple and coconut for a taste that's sweet, but not too overwhelming. You'll need pina colada or pineapple flavored Jello for these shots, along with a tablespoon of coconut cream, and a cup of boiling water. Once the mixture is dissolved, add cold water (about 1/4 cup), and stir in 3/4 cup of your favorite brand of coconut rum into the mixture to give the shots the authentic pina colada taste. Let the mixture cool for around five minutes, or until it's room temperature before pouring it into shot glasses.

Mixed Berry Jello Shots

Use strawberry, cherry, or raspberry Jello flavors for mixed berry jello shots that are especially sweet and fruity. Mix six ounces of the Jello packet with 16 ounces of boiling water. Add about eight ounces of cold water after the Jello dissolves, along with eight ounces of strawberry or peach schnapps to give the shots a "kick" and some extra fruit flavor. Before you pour the shots into molds or shot glasses, add a few drops of berry syrup or extract for more color and a slightly tart contrast to the sweetness of the Jello.
