Entertaining teens is always something of a project. Providing an atmosphere that is healthy and Christian can make it even harder. What you might forget is that kids just want to socialize and have fun. By keeping the pace moving and providing an upbeat background, you can easily entertain your kids and their friends with grace. Does this Spark an idea?
Instructions
1. Play upbeat Christian music. You don't need a live band or even a D.J., you can check out CD's at the local library for free. Music sets the tone for any gathering and helps the kids modify their behavior and language to fit the circumstances.
2. Plan activities. Not every minute has to be taken up with fun and frivolity, but by having a set time for certain activities, you keep the pace of the party moving and limit the time frame kids have to become bored. There are a couple of good resources listed below for Christian games and activities.
3. Feed the teens. Remember that every successful party has food and there is little more important to a group of teens than refreshments. Whether you plan a huge spread or a long table filled with munchies and soda, it is essential to feed the teens.
4. Begin and end the party in prayer. You don't have to beat the kids over the head with religion, but do remember to focus their attention on their faith from time to time. By making a habit of starting and ending activity with prayer, you help them create the same habit.
