Tour the Hawaiian Islands
Touring the entire state of Hawaii can be a rewarding experience, but a potentially daunting task for travelers looking to see all the island chain has to offer in one trip. Every island has something unique for the traveler to experience, and there are plenty of tourist agencies who offer ways to see them all. There are a number of options available to those who are willing to invest the time, effort and money into it.
Instructions
1. Book a flight to Honolulu, Hawaii's capital, and a hotel room for a week or more through a website such as Orbitz, and start by touring the island of Oahu. Discover Hawaii Tours offers a number of touring packages on the island that can be booked on the company's website, including a visit to the Pearl Harbor memorial, a visit to the Polynesian Cultural Center and a full-day scenic island tour.
2. Take an evening tour of the volcanoes of Big Island. Discover Hawaii Tours also offers flights to the volcanic island and a one-day tour capped with night views of lava spilling into the ocean from the island's active volcano, Kilauea.
3. Fly from Honolulu to the island of Maui for an eco-tour of the island. Discover Hawaii Tours has a "Road to Hana Eco Adventure Tour" that allows travelers to explore the island's waterfalls, beaches and valleys.
4. Explore Kauai by helicopter. Kauai is a largely inaccessible island due to its mountainous terrain, but Safari Helicopters provides tours of the island from the sky, which are available for booking through the company's website. Some flights will land at a secluded botanical preserve, giving travelers an opportunity to see the island on foot.
5. Fly to Molokai for fishing, diving and sailing. Island Air and Mokulele Airlines offer flights from Honolulu to any of the islands, included the more secluded island of Molokai, ideal for travelers who want to experience mule-riding, diving, hiking and a host of outdoor activities, according to VisitMolokai, which provides maps and a list of things to do while on the island.
6. Take a boat to the island of Niihau for a snorkeling tour. AdventureInHawaii has a package for tourists that includes a long boat ride along the Na Poli coastline, complimentary meals and snorkeling at the north end of the island.
7. Take a flight to Lanai for a more secluded tropical experience. Lanai visitors can stay at world-class resorts, enjoy golfing and "walk a mile on the beach without seeing another person," says LanaiTours. Tourists can book tickets on the Lanai Tours website.
