Paint A Vampire Face

So you want to be a vampire?

Vampire lore has fascinated people throughout history. Stories have been written, tales have been told and movies have been made about these ghastly, tormented creatures of the night. Modern-day teens cannot seem to stay away from this subject. And now your child wants to dress up like a vampire. Or maybe you are going to a costume party and want to be a vampire. Whatever the case, creating a vampire face is a rather simple process. Your success is in the details.

Instructions

Painting a Vampire Face

1. Squirt a quarter-size dollop of white paint on the plate. Add a small amount of black paint, about the size of a drop of water, to the white. Mix with a toothpick until thoroughly blended. Your goal is a very, very light gray.

2. Spread the light gray paint with your fingertip over the entire surface of your subject's face. Feather it out around the hair line and get it into the creases around her nose with a sponge. Apply a small amount to her eye lids.

3. Squirt another small amount of white paint, about the size of a penny, onto your plate. Gradually add some black paint to the white, mixing and adding, until you have a slightly darker shade of gray than before.

4. Apply small dots, with your finger, along but below his cheek bones. Spread the makeup toward his ears with your fingers and blend along the edges with the sponge. Your goal is to give your vampire a haunted look with sunken cheeks and prominent cheek bones.

5. Apply a small amount of the darker gray under each of her eyes and blend carefully with the sponge.

6. Dip the tipped applicator into the black palette and outline his lips. Fill in with more black.

7. Dip just the pointed tip of a clean applicator in the red. Draw a red line just at the base of her lower lashes. Use the other end to slightly smear the line so it is not severe.

8. Color your vampire's eyebrows with the black paint using the rounded tip of an applicator.

9. Add "blood" by smearing red paint down from the corner of his mouth and from the outer corner of one of his eyes. An alternative is to squirt the fake blood onto the corner of his mouth, letting it drip naturally. Put a smaller amount at the outer corner of one of his eyes.

10. Insert fake canine teeth or plastic vampire teeth into her mouth.
