Wedding favors don't have to cost a lot to be appreciated.
Brides on a budget don't need to worry about spending a fortune on favors that most guests won't have any use for once they get home. Create some cheap favors that people will enjoy and won't go to waste. Consider your colors and theme when you make your favors, and put together something simple that guests will love. Making the favors yourself adds a personal touch that people will appreciate.
Instructions
1. Fill a container with candy. Use chocolate candies that you can get online in any color, and choose a mix of your wedding colors. Tie the containers with ribbons. Some containers you can get cheaply are metal pails and take-out style paper boxes, or you can just wrap up the candy with some pretty tulle and tie a bow around it. Other options for treats are homemade fudge, shaped chocolates or wrapped silver or gold candies. Create tags to tie onto the treats that say the names of you and your fiancee, the wedding date or a cute saying or quote about love.
2. Gift your guests with sweet smells. You can use either small travel candles or votives, depending on cost. Wrap each candle with tulle and ribbons. Those handy with a sewing machine could also make sachets filled with potpourri. Make a simple bag from lace or other material, and fill it with nice-smelling potpourri. These work well when placed in drawers or in cars to scent the air.
3. Burn a CD for each guest of songs that are meaningful for you and your fiancee's relationship or simply your favorite songs. Consider it a soundtrack to your wedding day. Use a home computer to create personalized liners with a picture of you and your husband, a list of the CD tracks and a title like "John and Renee's Hits." Use colored discs to add festivity to your favor.
